Maddy is a teen who has a lot of responsibility for her young age. Her standalone mom is working long hours, so Bee has to look after and take care for her younger sister Bee, who has severe autism and needs care 24/7, besides her work in a photo store.
Bee is signed up early in the story to horse riding lessons for disabled children. It is here Maddy meets Albert, who works there.
Albert is a teen dealing with a lot of trouble at home, altough he is anything but a a troublemaker.
The trouble is at the side of his abusive and agressive father, who doesn't seem to find anything right in Albert and also in his wife, who flinches when her husband has another of his raging fits and hides in the laundry room from him.

The last thing on Maddy and Alberts mind is becoming friends and to eventually fall in love. But that is what happens. This is a little light point in both their lifes. But then unexpectely something happens in the horse riding stables an Maddy and Alberts lives are turning upside down, and the question is if things will be allright ever again.

I hadn't heard about this book and author before I was asked to join this blog tour.  I am glad I had the chance to read this book though, otherwise I would never known about it.
The storyline was absolutely stunning. The characters of Maddy and Albert where also very good. The story is told in alternating pov's of Maddy and Albert, which gaves a nice insight in their thoughts and their lives. It was just very moving to read how Maddy took care of her sister Bee, at such a young age without any complaint and in such a sweet way. This also counts for Albert, who in turn took care of Maddy in another sweet way altough he has a lot on his own plate. You just want the two of them to move in together and be happily ever after. I totally didn't see the big plot twist coming. Without giving away too many spoilers, it gave the both Maddy and Albert lives a very different direction. I liked though how everything was wrapped up in the end.

I truly enjoyed reading this book and I recommend reading it!
