Karma is a bitch.

That is what Gemma is thinking. Why is everything going wrong when she suddenly meets her ex-best friend again? Gemma is in the Hamptons after a terrible dump by her boyfriend. Five years earlier, her parents divorced when her father started dating Hallie's mother. Gemma was so devastated and sad that she came up with a master plan to drive the two new lovers apart. After a few mishaps, she finally had such a good bad plan to shoo Hallie and her mom away from her dad and it worked. But there was a dark side to it as she lost her best friend. But now it is five years later, Gemma looks completely different, and is en route to the Hamptons when she bumps into Josh, Hallie's brother. Josh and Hallie don't recognize Gemma anymore, who do recognizes them ofcourse and calls herself Sophie now to save the situation. Hallie and Josh completely take her for someone else, and they start meeting up more and more in the summer and Gemma is invited to their parties. But then some strange things start to happen. At the pool party, Gemma's shoes are suddenly gone and there seems to be something wrong with the very expensive bathing suit she is borrowing from Hallie(how could a bathing suit fall apart like that!?). More of these kind of, mostly embarrassing for Gemma, incidents happen. Is it coincidence or is someone trying to expose her true identity? And how will Josh, wish she finds hard to resist, react if he finds out who she is??

I just want to start this review with saying I never have read such an hilarious and FUN, laugh out loud book!!! This is by far one of the best written plots I have read in a while. WOW! As it seems this is the first book in a brand new series by Katie Finn, so readers who are in for brilliant, fast paced plot with lots of twists and fun, keep an eye on this series because if they are just as good ( I hardly can imagine they get even more brilliant then this..and I mean that as a compliment!!) as this one..don't miss out! I loved how Katie Finn made such an amazing plot and gave Gemma such a hilarious but also very real and believable voice. I found it somewhat hard to believe though that Hallie completely mistook her for someone else. But maybe that is also not what it seems in the stunning end of this book, which was a bit open but leaves a huge cliffhanger for the next book. Mostly open ends in books (or movies) annoy me to the max, but for this book it was just a plus because it makes you curious and leaves many clues for book number two, which I truly hope will follow up soon! A fast paced story about how friendship can take very sour turn, but told in a very spunky and hilarious way. This is definately the new must YA read of this summer and I  highly recommend it!!!
