Chloe and Lindsay are two best friends, living in Las Vegas. They dream of their future full of fabulous things, they even made a list of 50 things they have to do together! Chloe is secretly in love with Lindsay's brother Noah, and she knows Lindsay is not happy with that fact. Chloe soon leaves with her parents and younger sister Zoe (who is in training for an audition for Cirque du Soleil), for a touring vacation in Europe, where Chloe's dad confiscate's their cell phones. In the plane to Europe, Chloe meets fellow traveler Danny and they are having a light romance during the tour.
When Chloe arrives back in Vegas, the news that Lindsay is raped, murdered and found in a duffle bag hits like a bomb. Why and by who was she murdered? Chloe's life isn't the same anymore without her best friend who was like a sister to her. Mourning seems to take over her life, but she finds a friend in Noah, and together they are putting the pieces of their lives with Lindsay together.
What Happens Here is an amazing edgy and romantic novel, about friendship, loss and traveling. The fake European artifacts the friends know in Las Vegas, are set aside with the real Europe Chloe sees on her vacation.
The sudden murder of Lindsay is something you don't see coming up when you start reading, it starts like the average teen novel, but like every other fantastic MTV book, it suddenly takes a very different turn.
Recently I won this book in a contest and I am glad I won this novel, otherwise I would have missed it. MTV books are never a dissapointment and good value for money, and What Happens Here is no exception!
