Serena always wanted to be more like her best friend Kori. Kori is the kind of girl who dares to do everything, dyes her hear black, wears dark clothes and has an eyebrow pearcing. Serena is an insecure girl, her mom is very absent in her life, and her father even more, because she never knew him. One day Kori tells Serena that they are 'more alike than she thinks'. And Serena is questioning the meaning of this.
And then there is Shawn, a guy who thinks Serena is Kori in the online chat, because she looks so much like her. During the unfolding of the story, Serena and Kori grow more and more close friends. But then a sudden unexpected tragic car accident changes everything, and seems to make an end to their close friendship because one of them isn't alive anymore. Or is it just the start of the unfolding of the truth about Kori and the start for Serena to find out some shocking truths, involving her mother and Kori's father..and will Serena be able to move on without the best friend who was the person she trusted the most?
The story of Undone has many layers and is very exceptional. I really was hooked by the narrative of Serena, who tells everything in a witty sarcastic kind of voice.
I was also stunned by sudden more serious parts in the story, like Kori's sudden dead and how Serena has to move on without her. Beautiful written by the author Brooke Taylor. Undone is a beautiful stunning story about friendship, loss, family and some secrets luring in the dark.. and new friendships blooming up.
