Besides kittens, Joey got something else new: a foster brother, Paul Slater. Paul has had a troubled life when his mom suddenly went away, and has gone from one foster home to another. First he seems to becomes friends with Hannah's older brother Kit, who is in the same year as Paul. But then Kit and a few other boys from his class start bullying Paul, from calling him muppet to beating him up seriously after school..and Paul is getting more silent and doesn't their to tell his foster parent's, afraid that he has to leave again.. but he finds a real friend in Hannah and they seem to become more than friends..
I loved this book. After reading another book by Cathy Cassidy I really wanted to read more by her. Altough it is actually a children's book, I loved every minute of it. The story was just vert funny, sad at certain points because of Paul and how he was bullied, but overall very realistic. If you love the books by Jacqueline Wilson, be sure to read Driftwood too!
