Samantha Sweeting is one of the top lawyers of Carter Spink, one of the best law offices of London. The day that she is promoted to a high position, she discovers that she makes a huge mistake involving a company who loses 50 million pounds because of her mistake .Her mistake leaks out and she escapes the office in panic and jumps on a train. She steps out in a little village on the English countryside, where she knocks on a door because she needs an aspirin and a glass of water for her headache. The women who opens the door(Trish Geiger) thinks that Samantha is the new housekeeper that is sent from the housekeeper agency. Samantha doesn't understand anything Trish and Eddie Geiger talk about, but they really want her for the job, Samantha doesn't dare to say that she isn't send from the agency and that she only want's a glass of water, because she is afraid they call the police now everyone knows about her mistake now that is in all the newspapers. Samantha doesn't know anything about housekeeping and she can't cook. But she decides to hide here and to do like she is sent from the agency. But then everything task she has to do goes wrong, and the nice gardener Nathaniel seems to notice that she is a fake. But then his mother offers to help her learning to do her housekeeping tasks and Samantha notices that she isn't so stressed out here as she was when she was a lawyer who couldn't live without her blackberry and worked 24 hours a day.This was one of the best books by Sophie Kinsella I've read. I really liked her Shopaholic books, this books is the same kind of book, but somehow different. Sometimes I really want to read a book that is easy and funny. This one really was funny.
