The Melting Season by Celeste Conway

Giselle is a girl from New York's posh Central Park West. She is a dedicated ballet student, and her mother is a former ballerina.(Marina Parke-Vanova).Her father, dance historian Grigori Vanov, passed away when Giselle was very young, and she doesn't remember much of that time and of him. On a trip with her mom (and her mom's boyfriend Blitz), Giselle meets Will, the most beautiful boy she has ever seen. And he shows her the world beyond Manhattan, and that opens a new world for Giselle. But then she gets some memories back of her passed away father, and she has to cope with that, with help from Will.
Celeste Conway has written a lovely, elegant and just beautiful story with The Melting Season. A book for everyone who loves ballet and new york. On first hand, you might think that Giselle is a bit snooty because she is from the chique apartment buildings around Central Park. But she isn't, you immediatly want to be her friend. And seeing the cover(Degas?) the thought might come to mind that this is a BALLET! book. It isn't just another ballet girl-kind of story. Go reading and you'll be surprised. Classy and very lovely!
