The Lady In The Tower by Marie-Louise Jensen

It's the year of 1540, and after an accusation of whichcraft, Eleanor's mother is imprisoned by her own husband, Sir Walter, in the tower of their castle, the Lady Tower, one of the most isolated parts of the castle. For years later she still is prisoned, and the now grown up Eleanor is desperately seeking ways to get her mother out. The only way to communicate with her mother is in notes that they send secretly to eachother.

The chaplain of the castle is trying to poison Eleanors' mother, so she will die and Sir Walter can marry his new love Maria. Eleanor is trying to prevent her mother from poisoning, but her life is getting more and more in danger because of the grim Sir Walter, who is powerfull and seems to have everyone on his side. With betrayal and lots of courage, Eleanor seems to succeed in finding ways to help her mother..but she must also keep a lookout for her own safety..

The Lady in The Tower is just another brilliant historical novel by the hand of Marie-Louise Jensen. Richly detailed and stunning, and with a strong heroine and good developed characters.

A book the fans of Philippa Gregory and Charlotte Bronte definately will entertain.
