When she accidentally runs into a guy named Jacob with her car, her life makes a positive turn.
Jacob is an adopted boy from China, and Jacob introduces Terra into the world of geocaching.
The story takes the reader to China, where Terra and her mom are escaping the growing abusive behaviour of dad, and where a complete new world opens up to them. They are traveling to China with Jacob and his mom, and together they try to visit the orphanage where David lived before his adoption.
In China, Terra learns more about herself, about Jacob, her mom, and about what true beauty really means.
I really liked the story of North of Beautiful. It was sad to read about her very abusive father, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for Terra's mom, who didn't had the guts to stand up for herself, she seemed trapped in her life and marriage.
Before reading this book, I never heard of geocaching before, and I had to google it to finds out what it meant.
It was great to read about the growing friendship and love between Terra and the very sincere and honest Jacob, he really deserved a great girlfriend like Terra and she really deserved a great guy like him!
Just one of the three amazing novels by the fantastic Justina Chen Headley, who takes her readers with her to China with Terra and Jacob. Very well crafted and written, I can only say more that I really recommend it!
