Millicent Min; Girl Genius by Lisa Yee

Millicent Min is an eleven year-old girl who, because of her very high IQ, is attending high school already and is going to a college summer program.
She doesn't have many friends, most kids at her high school are older than her, and most of all they think she is weird geek.
Her parents do everything they can to give Millicent a normal childhood, and they sign her in for volleyball. There she finally meets a real friend, Emily Ebers.
Millicent doesn't tell Emily about her high intelligence and that she is in high school, she just want that Emily sees her as a normal girl, who attends middle school.
Then Millicent is told that she has to tutor Stanford Wong, posterboy for Chinese geekdom. A boy who only seems to be interested in basketball and flunks his grades. Stanford makes Millicent promise (they even sign a contract) that no one is told that she is tutoring him.
Then Emily walks upon Millicent in the school library, when she is busy tutoring Stanford. Stanford thinks Emily is the nicest and prettiest girl he has ever met, so he doesn't want her to think he is dumb, so when Emily asks what they are doing in the library, Stanford tells Emily that he is tutoring Millie! Millicent has to keep up a charade to hide who she really is from Emily, but is that really the way to make a real friend?
Millicent Min Girl Genius is just as genius as the title says. Author Lisa Yee has given Millie a fun witty and sharp voice wich is hilarious and entertaining to read about. This is by far one of the most excellent middle grade books I have ever read!
Millicent Min is the first part in a trilogy; the next book is from the point of view of Stanford Wong(reviewed next), the third about Emily Ebers.
Overall ranking: 5 stars!
