The summer that changed everything by Ann Brashares

Three best friends, one long summer.
Ama, Polly and Jo are best friends, and now high school is coming up. They all have their own plans for this summer. Ama has got into a summer camp, but not the summer camp she applied for, she is an indoor girl, and she has to get to an outdoor hiking camp, where immediately at the start her hair flat iron and Kiehls anti frizz hairproducts are confiscated. This is going to be fun..not!

Polly wants to go to a modeling camp, but will her artist mother Dia let her go? At the end of the summer, Polly isn't so sure anymore the modeling world is her world, and what is happening with Dia's studio: Dia seems to be in her studio working on her sculptures, but why is it empty when Polly comes home from camp?

Jo has a summer job as a bus girl at a beach restaurant. Her parents’ are still grieving the death of her older brother and she’s stuck in the middle of their messy divorce. She’s got her own problems this summer too – has she made a mistake by turning her back on her old friends?

All three girls have planted a willow tree years ago, this is a red line trough the book and a bond they share.

This was the first book by Ann Brashares (yes, really!) that I have read, I still have to start with the wildly famous Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books.
The summer that changed everything is a book I describe as The Book That Totally Blow me Away! It is just THE perfect summer read. It was very cute, but just not too sweet. The girls summer and the troubles they where facing kept me page turning. Excellent book! (the US title of the book is Three Willows)
