Charlotte Usher is an extremely unpopular girl at Hawthorne High. She is so unpopular that she feels invisible. Nobody notices her, and if they do, it is tho make snarky comments or to say mean things to her. Its the first day of the new schoolyear, and Charlotte has her eyes sat on Damen, and they become lab partners.
And then it happens; Charlotte chokes on a gummy winegum bear and dies. And nobody notices. She arrives in new life, at a school for dead children and her new home is the house that the children are haunting. But being dead doesn't stop Charlotte from wanting to be popular; it just makes her more creative about achieving her goal. And then she discovers that Scarlet, gothic little sister of mean cheerleader queenbee Petula can see her, and that may help her achieve her goal..
If you want to be sure to read a very different and way funny YA novel, pick Ghostgirl. I was really surprised how awesome the book is. Altough Charlotte is the main character (..ehm.I really don't want to make her more unpopular in this review..) a very big fun part is for Scarlet, one of the funniest parts is where Scarlet steps up to the cheerleaders at the cheerleader audition. Every unpopular girl would wish to step up to the mean girls with her witty one-liners. This book by Tonya Hurley really reminded me a bit of my own high school time, which wasn't always fun, but Ghostgirl really is a fun read wich makes you dying of curiosity for the sequel..
