Robin Wilde is a single mum, who works as a make up artist's assistant. She loves her little daughter more than anything in the world. But deep inside, she feels a big gap of emptiness since her partner left her. There is no one else home when she picks up her daughter from school, and speaking of school, she struggles to fit in with the school mum maffia who seem to have the perfect, everything-in-order-and control lives. She feels like she doesn't have anything under control, and has to do everything alone and by herself to take care of her daughter. She starts trying online dating, but this seems a total fail at the start, she just longs for the perfect partner, to make her life with her daughter complete and to make it a little family unit.
But then she finds someone who seems to be the potential perfect fit, and they start dating. But then he let's her wait and wait and eventually down at a dinner date she looked forward to. And then she get's asked by her boss to travel with her to New York to be her assistant at a movie set, this is the chance for her to step out of her comfort zone, and in the end it gives her the chance of a lifetime! But most of all she is happy to be back with her little love, her daughter!
I really like watching Louise Pentland's vlogs, because they are just fun. Is this book just as good? It is! I totally didn't know what to expect, but just took this book by chance as it was one of the books available for review. What I really like is that Robin is just so likeable and just the cool anti-perfect main character. She really shows what it is like to be a single mum and all the struggles that come with it. Which just shows that single mum's are true heroes! The work trip to New York was just amazing, and I love it that it gave Robin a chance for an even better future for her and her cute little daughter, with or without a new man in her life. Overall, I think this book is just amazing and I can't wait for the sequel!
