Chloe Sinclair travels from London to San Diego, to meet her friend Ross, who works in the movie industry. What the two share is their mutual love for James. Chloe was good friends with Ross's boyfriend James and is still mourning his loss due to a terrible illness. Chloe stays in the legendary and historic hotel Del Coronado. A hotel that is known to be a Hollywood playground and was and is featured in movies and literature. What she doesn't expect to happen happens, she is able to time travel when she shoves in the key card to the door lock!
The first time the time travel takes her to the Victorian Era, in a tight but large dress and find herself in the first love problems she is about to solve. The next time, she finds herself in The Roaring Twenties. the in the middle of the recording of the movie Some Like It Hot where she meets the one and only Marilyn Monroe, and she ends up in a totally eighties karaoke party. The time travel gives her the chance though to change James fate, and that of Ross and discovers that love is all about the right timing.
I really like this new book by Belinda Jones. Her books always take you to the most beautiful places in the world, and this is also the case in this book.
The story is fast and entertaining and besides the time travels, it truly has a red line about the importance of friendship and love. (and in this case; that last one is all about timing..) Further on, Belinda does a great job describing the specific time era and all its details. As a reader you can just imagine everything in the time travels as was it a movie! Especially when Chloe meets one of her idols, Marilyn Monroe, how cool is that!? What I also loved was how the end was wrapped up and how the time travel gave meaning to people in the present time. Overall I think this new book by Belinda Jones is a very good and very entertaining read!!
