Analee Echevarria loves playing the online game Kiri. This is where she met her online boyfriend Harris, altough they never met. This online game and boyfriend are a nice relief from her personal life; her mother passed away three years ago, and her Cuban father is on the brink of marrying his new girlfriend, yoga youtuber guru Harrow.
After her mother's dead and being ditched by her best friend Lily, Analee has somewhat hidden herself in a cocoon of grief, and finds it difficult to accept her new blended family, as Analee doen't like her new stepmom and sister. There is a lot of fuss about the upcoming wedding as her dad and Harrow want completely different things.

And then at science class, she is partnered with popular soccer player Seb Matias to be lab partners. Slowly this is leading her out of her comfort zone. Then due to circumstances, they come up with a plan to pretend that Seb is Analee's boyfriend, in an attempt to make his ex girlfriend jealous. She hopes to connect with other people again, but then they fall in love..

This is very entertaining and well written book! I have read the previous book by Janelle Milanes, The Victoria in my head, which I truly liked, so I was very curious for this new book. Altough it didn't had the same type of plot as her previous book, this was good. This book is about love in many forms; family, friends and love interests. It all came along in this book, which was nice. First Analee's family live. This was the most interesting part of the book and the red line. I loved how te author portrayed Analee's struggle's with her dad's new future wife, as she came over as quite shallow. Her dad has changed because of his new wife, and this was also difficult for Analee. The love triangle in Analee's life was okay, not very outstanding, but it was believable. For a long time, Analee is holding on to Seb as Harris as boyfriend, until Seb discovers who Analee is talking to online and then she has to make a choice between them. Will it be Seb or Harris for her in her new real life?
Overall, Analee In Real Life is a good read with an entertaining storyline with depth that I recommend reading!
