After a public scandal involving her actress mother, Gabi moves with her dad from California to Alaska, away from the public view. She has a hard time adjusting to her new and quiet life, untill she meets her neighbor Kai. At his home, she finds what she is missing at her own home; family and friends. And she starts to feel better in her new hometown.
But as soon as Gabi and Kai are getting closer, even as soon Kai starts to mentally drift away, until one day he completely dissappears for no reason.

Kai has a twin brother, Hunter, and he is sure of it that Kai has dissappeared to trace down their missing father's steps in the wilderness of Anchorage, in Alaska's cold notrth.

So together with Hunter Gabi goes on a dangerous journey to find Kai. trying to convince him to come home.

This was just an okay in-between-read. At some parts I liked it, but there where also some parts that just weren't that interesting and not adding anything to the story. Mostly the story exisxt of Kai and Hunter's trip to find Kai, and everything that happens along the way. They meet a waitress who knows someone with a private plane to help them out. both Hunter and Gabi will be tested as they battle the weather and face threats from the wilderness, and the blizzard that is coming their way, and  wolves, cliffs, and frozen lakes. It all seems pretty dangerous but the real entertaing danger stays out, like you are waiting for it to happen and then it doesn't. The conclusion when they found Kai and why and for what reason was all a little thing. It just didn't entertain me as a reader and I found his reason to hike out in the wilderness pretty odd.

Anyhow, I found this book not that good. It had a nice start but then it lost me, and I just expected more of it.
