Things just got to a turning point for Molly when one just regular normal school morning, her dad just forgets to drive her to school. That's it!
She has to come up with something to stand out more, but what? Molly's first attempt is to dye her hair in multiple colors, which she expects will enrage her parents, and everyone around her. But now, they seem it to look nice. And to her own surprise, she soon finds herself mingling with the most popular people in school. But with that, Molly is changing, and Kellan finds the new Molly is mean, distant, and will get in to trouble. And trouble comes up soon, when the most popular girl invites Molly for her birthday bash of the year where everyone hope to be invited for, which is at exactly the same day she would be attending the walk with Kellan. She is in the middle of a serious dillema, and hopefully she makes the right one in the end..
Molly in the Middle is a fun and very well written middle grade book. I can't say too much how well this one is written, everything was just right about it and everything at the right place! Molly's parents are quite messy because they are so busy, which has lead to the divorce. For a while, her mom is living away at a friend's house. After that Molly's home life is spiraling out of control, now matter how hard her dad tries to make things right.
As messy as her home life, the better she is into the popular crowd at school. It was sad though for Kellan, who is such a true friend for her through the whole book. It all made the book very realistic though, and I really liked the final choice Molly made, and how the author wrapped everything in the end.
This is certainly one of the best new middle grade reads, and I highly recommend it!
