The Great Village Show is another book by Alexandra Brown set in the charming small countryside town of Tindledale. Meg is the main character of the book. She is a teacher at the local primary school. Sadly, the school is dealing with a decline in children who attend the school, and a closure is in the forseeable future. But not with Meg on board. Together with the residents of the town, she makes the school the main goal of the annual village show. With all the money raised they could save it. While organizing the event, Meg meets celebrity chef Dan Wright. Rumour has it he is in Tindledale to open up a new restaurant. Meg tries to make a deal with him to do a cooking class at the school at the village show day. But Dan seems to be quite to obnoxious to do something like that. But slowly, Dan melts for Megs positive attitude and slowly she steals his heart and he gets a crush on her. Besides that, her mom arrives from her retirement place in Spain, and Meg gets to meet a newcomer in Tindledale, Jessie. Jessie is somewhat a second main character. Her husband is quite abusive and posessive, which leads to some moments in the book, but again, Meg is here to be a true friend for Jessie.

I have read Alexandra Brown's previous book The Great Christmas Knit-off, I loved that book so I was very curious for her next one. And this next one was just as good!! It is just so lovely and original that the author returned to Tindledale. You can just picture the picturesque village and it's residents, as a colorful cast of residents with Meg in front comes along in this book. Meg is somewhat the glue that keeps everything together. She really is the driving factor behing the village show. So it isn't a surprise that after a short while chef Dan falls in love with her. The romance part was just so cute and unexpected and with a nice twist in the end! The scene with her mom and an unwanted guest (Jessie's abusive husband) was just one of the most hilarious ones I ever found in a book.

I really liked this book with and an oustanding and good storyline and I just can't wait to read the next one by this author!!
