June and Oliver carpool to school everyday. Not that she asked for it as her mother less or more arranged it for her as their moms are best friends. Altough they drive together, they are not really friends and hardly know each other and both are dating someone in the start of the book. June is dating Itch, and Oliver is hooked up with Ainsley. What bounds them though is their mutual love for music. You can say that they are actually total polar opposites. But isn't it that opposite attracts..?
June is thrilled that high school is almost over for her. After that, the real life and college is waiting!
Oliver is a guy who just loves everything about high school, he is in the middle of organizing the big prank where all the senior classes take part in.
June is dating Itch, and Oliver is hooked up with Ainsley. Their daily talks about music kicks off a challenge between them. For June, all the chlicé high school things like prom, pep rallies and pranks mean nothing in the real world. Oliver though totally believes in those things and is convinced to prove that she is totally wrong!
Meanwhile, they on and off start to date, being tossed back and forth between their past dates, at some points they seemed very unsure who to date, but hey, that's part of teenage life! But in the end, all the puzzle pieces fell into place!
What's not to love about this super cute read? The characters of June and Oliver are amazingly adorable. I loved how their friendship blossomed up during their daily car rides, and their daily discussions where very entertaining! I also loved the many side characters in the book, especially June's group of friends. Her friendship with Shaun, what to say more about it that it was so real and genuine? The reader also get's to know June's mom, and her new boyfriend. At a sudden moment, June's mom helps out Oliver's mom, who is in some kind of domestic crisis, altough it wasn't very clear to me what happened. She makes sure June doesn't talk with Oliver about is as he isn't in the know. This type of unexpected things in the book made it quite an entertaining read!
I truly liked everything about this book and recommend reading it!
