As I Descended is a modern young adult retelling of Macbeth. The story takes place in the boarding school building of Acheron Academy. Lily and Maria are best friends and a couple. Another girl at the school, Delilah Dufrey, is the lead in the race to win the Kingsley Prize, and who possible win the scholarship to a college of her choice. Ofcourse Maria and Lily are determined not to let this happen, as it is their dream to co to college together, and they will not let Delilah stand in their way.Maria and Lily are willing to do anything to make their future happen…including using a dark power involving the spirits on the school’s land that used to be a plantation. As things spiral out of control, blood will be spilt..

It took me some effort to get in the story of As I Descended. Dark, paranormal stories with dark characters are not my first cup of tea. Somehow the plot and characters didn't do it for me.The storyline in this was about the strange events happening at a boarding school, and the mystery over whether these things were all happening due to evil spirits, or whether it was just a fight for a scholarship. It always creeps me out when there are Ouija boards or things like that are done in a story so that wasn't a big plus either. 

At some points the story got a little interesting, , but the whole time I was reading it, I was kind of waiting for it to get better.. If you're looking for well-done characters, an insightful adaptation, detailed tragedy, or true horror, then I think you're fine skipping this one.
