The story of  Unrivalled is about twelve teenagers, altough the book focuses mostly on three of them; Tommy, Layla and Aster. All the twelve teens are in the running to become the best and most influentual clubpromotor of the clubs of Ira Redman, the owner of the most important and famous clubs in Hollywood. All of them want to win the big sum of money they will get if they win, all because of their own personal reasons, which we get to read about in the book, so they try and do everything to get the most famous people in the clubs and win.

The most important star every promotor wants to get in the clubs is actress Madison Brooks, the biggest star of the moment. Madison is quite mysterious, and doesn't let the public much know about her background and her personal life.
She makes the most of her job as an actress and shows the outside world a Madison that is very different from the real one.
But then Madison suddenly dissapears, which puts all the wannabe clubpromotors in suspision, because they are the ones who saw her last...

The subject of the story didn't have my immediatele like, as at firsthand I thought: Oh, no, not another Gossip Girl kind of series. But when I read further on, this melted away, and the three main character started to become more likeable, altough they had quite little depth.I thought the most likeable and realistic character in it was Tommy. At firsthand he seems like an obnoxious guy but further on you learn more about his background and why he acts the way he acts. And further on the other characters also showed their more human side behind all the glamour.

The end of the book left me with quite a few questions, but I am sure they will be answered in the second part in this series! Overall I enjoyed reading it, but it wasn't anything that I haven't read before in terms of originality.
