Charlie Ryan is a teen girl who is living a double live. At school she is just Charlotte,a normal high school sophomore, but in her private live she is a professional gymnast who is training hard to be selected for the Olympics. Her best friend Gwen is also training for this, but her other best friend Zoe has no clue about this all. For Charlie, normal things like prom and a boyfriend, are not something her trainer and her parents are encouraging. But then Charlie meets Bobby through her friend Zoe, and he is so cute and they seem to be a perfect match. Prom is coming up soon, and her trainer and her parents have more or less forbidden her to go, because the final gymnast competitions, where she will or won't be selected for the Olympics, are coming up soon and Charlie has to be in perfect shape, because this is what she trained for all her life and her family has offered so much for. But Charlie sets up a secret plan with Gwen to go to the prom, so she can meet Bobby there. Too bad some guy at the prom decides to bring his skates and skates upon Charlie, who injures her ankle, can she say goodbye now to her Olympic dream?
Wow, I didn't expect this book to be this awesome! It reminded me a bit of movies like Ice Princess and the book Being Sloane Jacobs by Lauren Morrill, I really liked those two, and this book just fits in the same catagory with the plot. It was very well written, and everything in it was just very likeable. You can count on your fingers Charlie would be found on or another way at prom, but further on it wasn't predictable or anything. The final part of the book, where she finds out if she is selected for the Olympics , with or without her ankle injury, is just brilliant. Without any further ado or plot spoilers, I enjoyed this highly entertaining book full of fun plot twist, and I certainly recommend it!
