Tim Mason is a teen guy with many problems. He has been sober for a while now, but in the past he couldn't stop drinking, untill he drove his car into a house. If that wasn't bad enough, an ex-girlfriend shows up and claims her son is also his..

Alice Garret is trying to hold her family together now her dad is in the hospital. He needs serious care but money is very tight. They get help from the fund of a wealthy local politician lady, but when she threatens to cut is, Alice is devastated and tries everything she can to avoid this. On top of this she starts dating Tim with all his bagage, as if she hasn't enough of her own.

It is quite a while ago that I've read The Boy Next Door, and I didn't know beforehand that The Boy Most Likely To is the sequel/companion novel to this. I had to dig a little in my mind to remember to connect the dots between the two, and the family relations to figure this book out.  The romance between Tim and Alice was just very cute. It reminded me a bit of the Katie McGarry novels, they also have a good girl-bad guy narratoive, altough I expected this book to be more like the Sarah Dessen novels, so it was certainly different then I expected! The end part had some nice plot twists, this especially turned out good for Tim, as one his mayor problems seemed to vanish.

Overall it was quite a long read (almost 500 pages long..)  but it was certainly a nice read with a good plot and I really liked Alice and Tim and how everything worked out for them in the end, and I definately will be checking out Huntley Fitzpatrick second book What I Thought Was True which I still haven't read but am very curious for now!
