JT has a goal he wants to achieve: to be the first one in his family to live small town Clearwater, Florida and go to college. His parents barely notice him as they are too busy watching tv and buying useless stuff on TellSell. They don't have money to send JT to college. There is an option for him coming by that could be his one lucky chance to a college scholarship, as his grades are far from good enough; to compete in in the Miss Drag Teen Scholarship Pageant. JT loves being in drag, but the last time he appeared in drag he was booed of stage in a high school talent show. With his boyfriend Seth and best friend Heater he sets of on a road trip to New York City, where the pageant takes place. During the road trip, they have car trouble, but luckily they meet an older couple who invite them to their home for the night, so they can continue their journey the next day. Nice coincidence that the woman is a former country singer with the best wardrobe including WIGS! This was by far one of the most funny part in the book. There where some other great ones, I also liked the part with their car in a car park of a New York hotel and everything goes wrong, and they can't get the car out because of unexpected circumstances. When they arrive and stay in New York, nothing goes as planned, but the book certainly has a good end when everything falls into place for JT!

This is one of the most funny reads I have read in a while!! It was refreshing to read a YA novel from a guy's perspective, which I don't read very often. JT was just awesome. He doesn't have much trouble being ''out'' as gay. He only stumbles upon a lot of misunderstanding when he dresses up as a drag. The only two who understand him are Seth and Heather. Their road trip was just fun and it kept me hooked as a reader. You don't see what's coming up next in this book full of fun plot twists and turns. The end was very different from what I expected. It all falls into place in the end and it was just an amazing end! (sorry, no spoilers ;) ) A very original read, very different then what I normally read, but I'm glad I read it.  Recommended!
