Becca is on a holiday through Europe with her dad, stepmother and brother Dylan. This is not the vacation she dreamed of. Her dad is distant and doesn't even notices her, her stepmother is trying a little bit too hard to replace her mother and to please everyone to like her and her brother's only goal for this holiday is to hook up with European girls

Nikolai is a prince, and he is sick and tired of all the royal protocol antics. He has everything you could ask for in your life, except freedom. After staging a revolt, he flees his kingdom and goes undercover on his own European tourr.

But then she meets Nikolai, and he is the guy who changes her holiday for the better! She has no idea he is a prince, But then the press and paparazzi get a hint that the prince has run away and where he is. Becca and Nikolai get photographed and she finds out that he is a royal. But their differences and the fact that Nikolai isn't the guy to enjoy publicity and wants privacy, their time in Europe is the best. Nikolai shows Becca great places out of the tourist track. But then Becca's holiday comes to an end and Nikolai is forced, and not in a nice way, to go back to fullfil his royal duties and listen to the orders of his strict father, the King. and Becca is going to college, altough, that was the official plan. For the very first time she has a good talk with her stepmother Vicky, who seems to be very nice and understanding in the end.
Will Nikolai and Becca find each other back and stay in touch?

Royally Lost is a fast paced and exciting new YA novel that is just a treat to read! It reminded me a little bit of the movie The Prince and Me, altough in this story the roles and places are a bit different. The characters where both fun to read about. Nikolai is a prince who wants to be just a normal guy with a normal life where he has more freedom. I though he was just cute and reall ycared about Becca. Becca want's to escape from her dysfunctional family, who wouldn't at her age? I liked though how the relationship between Becca and her stepmother changed for the better in the end. The story is set in Europe, mostly in Hungary. The author researched this very well.
This is a summer romance YA story that is not to miss this summer!
