Angela and Alex's are living pretty happily in New York City, married at . Christmas is arriving soon, and Angela is looking forward to a more quiet and relaxed time to spend with her husband in their Brooklyn apartment. But ofcourse in Angela's life, when you think everything is happily ever after, things are about to change: Alex has a very special suprise for her, but this means that the quiet time Angela hoped for, she has to postpone or wipe out. Especially now she is also promoted to interim editor-in-chief of the glossy magazine she works for. Jenny has decided to suddenly drop the bombshell that she is ready to have a baby and is looking for a guy to father her child. Angela is shocked by her decision and tries to convince her friend that this is not the right time for her and how demanding a child can be. On supporting her friend Angela battles with her own feelings on when or if she is ready for a child herself although Alex appears to have other ideas.
Angela is also greeted by an old friend who has suddenly arrived on her doorstep and has planned to stay with her for a couple of days. Angela is pleased to see her friend but after various conversations discovers that her friend has also ran away from home and gone straight to New York like she once did.Angela parents have also decided to invite themselves to join her and Alex for Christmas in New York much to Angela’s dismay. It seems like Angela is having quite a busy Christmas...
Angela is back on a roll in this latest installment in the well known "I Heart..." series by Lindsey Kelk. I found it overal a quite amusing read, altough I missed the fast paced twist turners from the previous books. There where a few small ones, but no one topped out really. Angela is still the bit clumsy young woman from the previous books, a little more mature now perhaps. I just wanted more from the book, the others have always had big events going on, moving away, getting married, going on holiday etc. This was like a stepping stone book, I’m guessing the next Angela might get with it and have a kid? Nice, but I hope the next I Heart... book will be a bit sharper.
