Book Expo America started this week, and for everyone who can't be at the expo in NYC, there is now Armchair BEA MarjoleinBookBlog will be attending this fun blogger event this week, and today is the kickoff by telling about yourself and your blog, so here we go;
My name is Marjolein a reviewer from the Netherlands, and I started my blog, MarjoleinBookBlog in April 2008.I review mostly Young Adult fiction and ''books between cultures''. I also review, be it more incidental, chicklit and romance and historical fiction.
I was an afterschool teacher till 2009, then I started to get some health issues, wich resulted in the diagnose Gitelman's syndrome last summer. This is a rare genetic reccesive kidney disease that makes the kidneys lose to much potassium and magnesium. At the moment I am still recovering at home, and its not sure how long it will take till the doctors get my medication right. Reading and reviewing is an excellent way to stay creative during this process, so I am glad I started my blog to share my love for reading! Being located in the Netherlands and now not able to fly over to New York City to attend BEA due to my health issues, I love that there now is a chance to attend from your own armchair!
I am looking forward to meet other bloggers, authors, publishers and everyone else who share the love of books and book blogging and reading.
I'll be armchairing from my armchair all week, so I'd love it if you'd pop by and share your thoughts!
I hope that the doctors are able to get your medication right soon! Book blogging is a fantastic outlet during health problems - it's saved my sanity a few times.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I hope the doctors can find the right level for your meds soon.
ReplyDeleteOn behalf of the Armchair BEA organizers, we hope you have a blast this week!
