Sleepaway Girls by Jen Calonita

The sixteen year old Sam is going to be a counselor in training in a sleepover summer camp for kids; Whispering Pines, located in the New York Catskills. This is her very first time as a counselor in training, and the very first time she has to share a bunk with so many new people, who are also mostly more experienced camp counselors! Sam is trying to get her mind of her best friend at home, Mal, who almost forgot all about Sam now she has a boyfriend, Mark (and now Sam calls them MaloMark).

Sam makes new friends with the other counselors in her bunk ,Courtney and Em) but there is one girl who has a pick on her: Ashley, the snobby daughter of the camp director and her best friend and sidekick Gabby. Ashley and Gabby are getting done more and more mean pranks toward Sam's new friends who now are known as the Sleepaway Girls. But they try to get back to the evil two. And then Sam has to decide between to guys who both seem to have an eye on her: Cole and Hunter. Does Sam even has time to do all the regular counselor stuff like dye t-shirts and sing Kumbaya?

Sleepaway Girls is a fast, fun-filled read about summer camp. I loved that the story never had a dull moment and was filled with fun on every page, even the mean Ashley became fun in the end! Really liked to see what it means to be a camp counselor in an American summer camp. Great book to escape with!
