When Moose and May announce their wedding plans, Veronica starts feeling like the third heel and she feels like one person too much in her own house, especially now she has lost her job in the pharmacy and she hasn't got a part in the new theatre play.
She decides to leave Chester and to take off for Los Angeles, where her friend Vivian (who now goes by the name of Reed) lives. Vivian is one of the V's, their friendship group of girls whose names start all with a V. Vee want to make it as a professional actress in L.A. and Reed is the one to show her around where to take classes and where to go for auditions and screentests.
Before she left, Vee found a box in the attic which contains old love letters from her mom , written to her dad from L.A., where she was also trying to be an actress.
But Vee realises soon that becoming an actress is far from easy, as there are thousand others with the same plans as her. She starts working as a waitress at a diner, where she meets Philip, and they become more than just friends.
Between audtions, movement classes and her work in the diner, Vee discovers that nothin in L.A. is what it seems, and that Reed isn't the best friend Vee thought she was. Vee feels out of place again and has to decide to stay in L.A. or to go home...
Recently I won All About Vee in a contest in an amazing pack of books written by Los Angeles based authors (thanks Cherry!) and I am really glad this book was in it, otherwise I would have missed it. I heard great things about C.Leigh Purtill's book Love, Meg and I LOVED All About Vee. I finished it in just one day and couldn't put it aside. C.Leigh Purtill just has an amazing great style of writing Vee's story and it was great to read about Vee's struggle to make it as an actress in L.A. Just one point I didn't get, and that was why she felt as the third wheel when Moose and May announced their wedding, because I thought they where just really kind to Vee and absolutely didn't want her to leave. Beside that All About Vee is just a book you don't want to miss out!
