Alex is a young woman who has a special paranormal gift: she can communicate with dead people. And because of that she is asked to go back to the world of 60 AD, to find a special medaillon wich contains powers that can save the world.
She gets the help of a druid Caradoc, the guy who is also haunting the dreams of Alex, and she finds out he also has had dreams of her.
When the mission of finding the medaillon is fulfilled, Alex is supposed to go back to the present time in the human world. But she is more happy in the other world, the world of goddesses , warriors, and her one true love Caradoc.
Altough I'm not a huge fan of fantasy and paranormal novels, The Avenger was a nice and very entertaining read. P. C. Cast is an author wit ha very vivid imagination, and she really knows to create a whole new fictional word in this book. Don't miss this one out!
