Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen

Colie Sparks is a fiteen year old girl who is spending her summer at the house of her eccentric aunt Mira in a little town named Colby.Colie's mom, Kiki Sparks is a famous fitness celebrity from tv, and is touring ,so she doesn't have time for Colie.

Colie is a pariah in high school, and not many people know the secret that both she and her mom where overweight before her mom became a fitness tv host. Colie has to adjust to everything in Colby, especially to the rumours about Mira that are going around. Soon Colie starts working at the Last Chance Diner, where she makes friends with Isabel, Morgan and Norman. But the mean girl from her high school also appears in Colby, and Colie finally learns to stand up for herself, and a summer romance between her and Norman is also blooming.

I picked this book up for a second try after I had read it a few years ago, I remember that I didn't like the book that time, but it seemed a whole different book to me now. And I really liked it this time! I think many girls can relate to Colie and where she is going through, and her aunt may be a bit weird, but she goes her own way and I thought she was pretty cool. Perfect beach read and one of my favorite Sarah Dessen novels.
