The Amanda Project:Invisible I by Melissa Kantor

Callie and two other teens, Nia Rivera and Hall Bennet, are called in to the office of the school principal. They don't know why they are called in, but the principal explains that it has something to do with a girl who is new in school: Amanda Valentino. It seems Amanda mysteriously dissapeared, and the principal wants to know what Callie, Nia, and Hall know about that. Soon each of them, even the principal are starting to find notes and signs from Amanda, but where is she?

The three of them have one thing in common:They were each chosen by Amanda to be her guide. When Amanda arrived at Endeavor High, she told Callie she moves around a lot and always picks one person to help her navigate the choppy waters of a new school. Why did Amanda lie?

During the story the reader learns more about Amanda, and Amanda seems to leave more and more cryptic clues and signs in the lives of the three, but if they will find out where she is...?
The story of Invisible I was nice, but I have to say it reminded me of many other books, and I don't know if that is a good sign. Similar plots can be found in, for example, Paper Towns by John Green, also a story about a mysterious girl who is missing and who can't be found and leaves signs all over.

I enjoyed the funny, witty style of Melissa Kantor's writing. I loved her book If I Have A Wicked Stepmother, Where Is My Prince? and altough I liked that book a bit more than Invisible I, it was entertaining. I also liked the little drawings that popped in everywhere in the book, the books shows off a lot of creativity! I am very curious how this Amanda Project series will continue, the second book will come out in a few days, titled Signal From Afar and is written by Peter Silsbee.
