Isabella(Izzy) has a normal life. One day she goes with her mom to her doctor to look after two swollen glands on her throat. This is a topic I haven't seen in many teen books before, that the main character is diagnosed with cancer. Amy Goldman Koss really wrote a magnificent novel with Side Effects, about a topic which is, sadly, very actual. Mostly I have to think two times before I pick up a book about cancer, because I lost a few people on it.
But this book was different, and it wasn't depressing, just the oppossite, and I loved the end!
