Runaway (Airhead book 3) by Meg Cabot

In this third and final Airhead novel, Emerson Watts still is swapped in the body of supermodel Nikki Howard. They are both prisoned by Brandon Stark, the son of Robert Stark, teh CEO of Stark Enterprises, who is controlling and monitoring their lives and the lives of their family and friends. Emerson hardly sees her mom, dad and sister anymore because of that, and most of all she misses her boyfriend Christopher (who finally finds out the truth about Emerson).

Emerson and Christopher are getting note of the true plans of Stark, a project which is called Project Phoenix,; a plan to let extremely healthy young people dissapear so people can bid on their body to get their brains transplanted into them.
Will Christopher be able to put aside his personal feelings and help her expose her employer to the world? Is it even fair to get Christopher involved--since if he agrees, there's every chance that Stark Enterprises will try to have them both killed--this time, permanently?

Runaway is a very different book than I am used of Meg Cabot, and I am still a bit in doubt if I like this science fiction kind of teen novel. I think this book didn't had the most strongest plot of the trilogy, it was more a real folding out of the finale of the Airhead story. Not bad, original in a certain way, sometimes a bit confusing, but I must say that all the absurdness of the body transplants was also very hilarious and I absolutely have read it with a smile. A book the real Meg Cabot fan like me must read.

  1. The last installment of the Airhead series seems to have wrapped up the series quite well. This series is so vastly different from Meg Cabot's other works. Shows her true ingenuity and versatility I think. Thanks for the lovely review :)
