Blog Tour: The Moonstone Legacy by Diana de Gunzburg and Tony Wild

Synopsis from the back cover:In a sacred cave high in the mountains of northern India, a white-haired hermit sits cross-legged, and signs his final testament: "George Abercrombie, 1874 . . . ." In present-day England, 14 year old Lizzy Abercrombie’s mother dies in a tragic accident on the full moon. But was it really an accident? Lizzy discovers that her death may be linked to a mysterious family curse. Determined to solve the mystery, her quest takes her from a doomed Anglo-Indian mansion on the Yorkshire moors to India where she uncovers the terrible truth about her ancestor and a stolen inheritance—but her discoveries put her in mortal danger from a ruthless enemy.

The Moonstone Legacy is the first Young Adult novel by Pushkin Press. I thought it was a light entertaining read. Not my favorite read of all times but quite good. The story was a bit hard to come into ( I always suffer from that with stories with a mythological touch) and some of the scenes where a bit confusing, Overall a nice new novel between the East and West.

About the authors:
Diana de Gunzburg was born in Pakistan and is Anglo-Russian-Afghan. She has recently published articles about her family history in Alef magazine and Afghan Scene. Tony Wild is the author of The East India Company: Trade and Conquest from 1600 and Remains of the Raj, nominated Jan Morris’ Book of the Year

The Moonstone Legacy will be available in bookstores from July 2010 and for more about the book you can visit the official site, www.moonstonelegacy.com
