Beads, Boys and Bangles by Sophia Bennett

The four fashionista friends (Nonie, Edie, Jenny and Crow) from the previous book Threads are back, and how!
Crow's collection is officially in high street stores now, to be more precisely at the store Miss Teen. Nonie is again the narrator, and we learn that soon after the success of the launch of Crow's collection at Miss Teen (with people waiting in lines for the store and getting hysterical when the store opens and they can rush in..).

Edie's website, where she blogs about the progress of Crow's designs, is hacked by a group from California, who claims to have pictures of how Crow's collection was made: by little slave girls in India and The Philippines. The girls try to sort this out, although they get the reaction of the store manager, Andy Elat, that the clothes where fabricated in good ethical circumstances in the factories, but the group keeps accusing them, maybe the only way to find out if they are true is ..to travel to India themselves, they do, and this leads to a few amazing meetings and discoveries..

Nonie starts dating Alexander, an amazing dancer from the Royal Ballet who looks a bit like Robert Pattinson, but is he also an amazing kisser?
Jenny is busy with the rehearsals of a new West End play, but then a big star, Sigrid Santorini is cast for one of the leads, in Threads we learned what kind of mean person Sigrid is, and this time she is again handling Crow’s designs with disrespect.

Beads, Boys and Bangles is a MUST read for every girl, young or old! Threads was amazing, this sequel is even more fashion and fun! I loved that the issue of how clothes are made in third world countries was a red line in the book, Sophia Bennett really made a very important point with this, and I hope many more authors may follow , and hopefully fashion retailers too! The story takes you from London, Paris and Mumbai, India and amazing people in the fashion and theatre world. If you want to be in fashion with books this season, pick Beads, Boys and Bangles!
