Her father has returned to her mom recently, and has sworn of the alcohol. But he still acts strange, and who is the woman he has been seen kissing with by one of Courtland's best friends?
Courtland and the a new star player at the school basketball team, Aidan Calhoun have found each other and start dating, altough Courtland's pregnant mom is not happy with it, but can she trust her feelings for someone new when the people she's closest to may not be what they seem?
The Promise is a very entertaining new young adult novel in the Worth the Wait series by Chandra Sparks Taylor. ALtough I haven't read the first book, it wasn't a problem to start with this second novel and to catch up who is who and what happened before.
The story had a good plot, and I loved how everything unraveled at the end and that a few people not where what they seemed before.
A light read which is really worth it to pick up!
