The parents of Sierra are running a christmas three farm in Oregon. Most of the year, they are living there, but during the holiday season they move to California to sell christmas three in their own lot. Its been a family tradition and soon they might have to give it up due to lack of funds. While her best friends in Oregon are excited, Sierra is not. She loves keeping this tradition alive. Sierra constantly has to switch from life when she moves from one state to the other and back, and she misses the other one when she is away.
Especially her best friends.
The Christmas period the book is set in is different for her though. The first thing that is different is that her best friend Heather is in California and they cram in as much fun time as possible in one month. Secondly;because she meets Caleb.
Caleb is the usual bad guy, but Sierra doesn't know this ofcourse when he buys tree after tree at the lot.Sierra gets curious. Then she starts to hear rumors about Caleb's past. Is this a guy she should be spending time with? Can she see past Caleb's history and give him a chance?
Let's start this review with that I liked the idea of the plot and main characters Sierra and Caleb. The cover and the tone of the book reminded me a bit of the Sarah Dessen books, But..these more positive points don't take away that the pace and the development of the story are both very thin. It was nice to read about Sierra and Caleb, but nothing happened that I haven't read in a hundred young adult novels before. Sweet girl meets bad guy.. that one gets old.
Overall a cute thin story, but nothing in it made it special or outstanding.
