Summer is not going to plan for Dee Wilkies as she has been rejected for the fine arts precollege summer program she planned to go to. She is talking with her best friend Naz about what to do now at a local diner when in walks someone from a movie production. He asks for directions to Dee and Naz and tells them they are looking for help on set. The movie is starring the famous pop star Milo Ritter, on which Dee had a crush on since eight grade.

That summer, she is doing all kinds of stuff for the assistant of the assistent.  She finds out that Milo is completely different then on TV: in real life he acts kind of rude to everybody, and because of his attitude she tries to stay away from him as much as possible. But then one day, she lands in a spontanious conversation with him, and again she has to change her opinion about him: he is actually quite nice, and his earlier rudeness has it reasons as he just broke up with his girfriend Lydia who cheated on him. During her work on the set, she gets to talk with Milo more and more, and it leads to a spark that flies over between them. They start to go out together, but later on the press picks it up, and picture of Dee kissing Milo appear online. Can a relationship with a guy like Milo ever work out for a girl like Dee?

The story of My Unscripted Life started a bit slow, but all of a sudden it increased in pace and the plot got better, and better and better!!
I have read one other book by Lauren Morrill earlier, Being Sloane Jacobs, which I LOVED, so I was excited to find an egalley of her newest book. This was honesty quite a shorter read then Being Sloane Jacobs, plot-wise also, but it was very cute, fun and entertaining. I never have read a book where the main character gets a romantic relationship with a famous movie star that actually works out in the end. (oops, sorry, spoiler alert!) Dee was just adorable and just a fun but also very realistic girl main protagonist. Milo was rude in the beginnin, but during the story his protective layers fell of and out from under that came just the perfect and very nice spirited guy for Dee. They truly fit together and it was just so entertaining to read. This book just puts a smile on your face!! Recommend it!
Stay tuned for my review of Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill which I just got a copy of and hope to review soon!
