Lexi Shaw is a teenage girl who seems to have everything under control from the outside. She is popular in school, but her school life is the complete opposite from her life at home. Her mother is an alcoholic and has never taken care of Lexi very well. She is mostly absent, going out with the wrong kind of men. Lexi has some kind of a family life though with her best friend Ben, where she was mostly during her childhood and is still always welcomed by him and his parents. With her crush on her signature good boy best friend, Ben, she wants him to never find out what she's done with Tyler. The apple falls not far from the three though because Lexi starts dating Tyler, a guy who has the reputation of being a bad guy. Lexi's father has been absent most of her life, she always was told by her mom he isn't alive anymore, but then she gets to hear that he is still alive and starts to search for him, which leads to their actual real life meeting and where she finds out he isn't a drug addict anymore for many years and he build a new family, but why without her?

I  liked this book a lot. Lexi was a very likeable main character. The plot was not the most original, but it was exciting and written very well. I really liked the romance between Lexi and Tyler. Altough Tyler was branded as a bad boy, he was the good and righ guy for Lexi. What also was very touching was the reunion between Lexi and her father, and how with this she got a new family life agan. I truly recommend reading Faking Perfect for a light YA read!
