Amber was three when a car crash stole her mother's life. She doesn't remember the accident, but a stranger at the scene has been unable to forget. Now, almost thirty years later, she's trying to track Amber down. Amber, meanwhile, is married to Ned and living on the other side of the world in London. When her father has a stroke, she flies straight home to Australia to be with him. Away from her husband, Amber finds comfort in her oldest friends, but her feelings for Ethan, the gorgeous, green-eyed man she once fell for, have never been platonic. As Ethan and Amber grow closer, married life in London feels far away. Then Amber receives a letter that changes everything. 'Before your mother died, she asked me to tell you something'.
The Sun in Her Eyes is another addition to the brilliant and hilarious books by Paige Toon. This is definately one of those books that keeps you turning page after page, as she wrote it in a way that keeps you hungry for what's coming next. Altough it is a bit questionable what Amber does with Ethan when she is in Australia (and she is constantly worried that her husband Ned will betray her with his boss Zara), she is a likeable character. The author builds up a great deal of suspense in this book about a message that was left for Amber as a child just before her mother died, it isn't a very big thing anymore though when it's revealed, but it is important enough for Amber to know. As a reader it is hard to guess though which guy is the best for Amber. In the beginning Ned seems like a total douchebag, and Ethan seems the prince on the white horse who is back in her life, and both thought that their friendship was nothing more than friendship, and both where wrong. In the end though when Ethan's true character comes to the surface, everything turns around again which was a nice twist.
I truly enjoyed reading The Sun In Her Eyes and recommend it to everyone who is in for a light and hilarious read full of exciting twist and turns!
